Emily Muniz
Politics Undergraduate Student at New York University
I am an MLK Jr. Scholar and 2024 Social Impact Changemaker Fellow at NYU with a strong background in educational equity, youth advocacy, and mental health accessibility. I have conducted research on affirmative action and the ethical implications of using standardized test scores as a metric for college admissions, which I presented at both Harvard and NYU. My current research focuses on the effects of structural factors in college admissions on equity across race and income, including donor influence, early decision guidelines, affirmative action trends, magnet schools, and the return of standardized testing. I currently serve as the Digital Civics Fellow at #HalfTheStory, where I help co-design the Digital Civics Academy: a summer program for teens focused on digital wellness and the responsible tech movement. I plan to pursue graduate studies in education policy or public policy, with the goal of eventually working in policy development to help create policies that support more equitable and inclusive educational systems.

Rabia Ecrin Özdaşan
Secretary of the Event Committee in the Turkish Student Senate
I am a high school student with a fascination for how systems legal, social or psychological truly operate beneath their surface. I serve as Secretary of the Event Committee in the Turkish Student Senate and take part in the drafting of a policy report destined for Parliament. I hold active roles in my city’s Youth Council and two national youth-led initiatives, where I navigate leadership through both structure and intuition. My passion for Olympic archery, chess, and puzzles isn’t about competition it’s about control, focus, and anticipating what others miss. I’m especially drawn to criminal law and crime analysis, not for justice, but for the opportunity to understand motive, manipulate outcomes within the rules, and master the narrative. I aim to build a career that combines observation with influence where precision matters more than noise, and strategy beats intention.
